First Brethren Church (Warsaw, IN) celebrated its 125th anniversary on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Interim pastor Rev. Howard Immel presided over the service, and a special sermon was delivered by Brethren Church Executive Director Rev. Steven Cole.

First Brethren Church of Warsaw was founded in 1892 by David Christner, and has a long history of beloved elders in The Brethren Church, including C.F. Yoder (1894-1903) and Albert Ronk (1918-1919).

I was born in Warsaw and spent my first 11 years there and was baptized by Robert Holsinger before moving to Ashland, OH. I think fondly on those years and the great people I knew there. Alberta Holsinger was one of the first people to get me excited in missions!

Hi to Janet(Summy)! Our parents were good friends, having lived in Warsaw together. My mother and grandma attended Warsaw First Brethren and after my parents marriage, my father (George Kerlin) accepted Christ and began his faith journey there. They spoke so fondly of their love for the people and Warsaw church throughout my childhood. God worked greatly in the lives of many that I know had their roots in the Warsaw church.

I have been the secretary at WFBC for almost 20 years and also grew up in this church. It is so good to see your posts!
