Brethren Peace Initiative
BPI’S current ministry throughout the Brethren Denomination
Headquarters in Ashland, Ohio

BRETHREN PEACE INITIATIVE is the name of the peace education, peace emphasis, and peace action ministry in the Brethren Church. Building upon strong New Testament peacemaking beliefs since our church’s origin over 300 years ago in Germany, BPI encourages Brethren to renew and revitalize their calling to be active peacemakers in all of life --- within ourselves ... within our marriages ... within our families ...within our churches ... within our communities (neighbors, schools, government) ... within our own country ... and certainly as we relate to other countries and their people around the world. The need for expressing and promoting the “peace of Christ” knows no boundaries.
To inspire and facilitate this peace mission for our denomination, we utilize several avenues of communication. These include a semi-monthly email (below) that is sent out through various email lists. If you’re interested in receiving this correspondence in your inbox, please contact Phil Lersch at: PhilLersch@verizon.net.

You can also discover short, Biblical, historical, and inspirational segments of peace information inside The Brethren Evangelist Magazine (CLICK HERE to view).
The Brethren Peace Initiative is available to distribute information, bumper stickers, and written reports, as well as materials that promote small group discussion. We currently do this at the Brethren Church General Conference and at the BYIC Convention.
The Brethren Peace Fund, administered by the National Office, is established to receive and dispense funds for the expenses of BPI. Without any budgeted money, our income is limited to valued individual contributions. Please send your checks, written to Brethren Peace Fund, to Stan Gentle (524 College Avenue, Ashland, OH 44805).
