The Holy Spirit

Hello All,

It has been quite a while since I have written.  Contrary to the rumors, I am not dead nor am I forsaken.  I have been healing and communing with God.

God and I have walked a rough, rocky path the past few months.  I have been battling my own war with the powers of darkness.  I have been holding the hands of friends and strangers as they wrestled with their demons.  Each time that I felt that I was too tired to keep fighting, the Holy Spirit would intervene.  A phone call; a visit from a friend; a stranger stopping to talk; a song would sound; the Spirit would let me know that I was not in a singles wrestling match, we are a tag team.

I have become convinced that nothing is impossible if we believe in Him and we will do greater things than these.  God just asks us to open our hearts and minds to the reality that the Holy Spirit is with us always.  This is not just an ideal or a vision.  The Spirit is real.  He only awaits our acknowledgement and stands ready to lift us to victory.  EMBRACE HIM!

Blessings and Prayers,

Ken

Chile

It is with great sadness and concern that I again write to implore all readers to reach out to help our brethren in Chile.  Another earthquake has struck.  We need to pray and take action to help this country to rebuild and comfort the survivors.  There is a Brethren Church present in Chile.

Carlos and Zulema Quiroga operate a mission church in Puente Alto, Chile.  First, we need to pray for the safety of all involved and for The Spirit to lead us in what we are being called to do to help.

I will be writing again about The Center, but God first calls us to begin intercession for Chile and to remember to intercede for Haiti.

Blessings and Prayers,

Ken

Roots

What are the roots of The Center?  I would say relationships.  We are based in small groups of people who meet to study, worship and most importantly care for each other.  I believe that we need to concentrate on our roots in the months ahead.  We to care for each other and to worship God whenever we meet.

People of The Center,

Hear me!  We need to support each other.  We need to stay in touch.  If you consider yourself part of The Center, you need to communicate with other groups (phone, email, comments to blogs).  God has blessed us with a loving group of people who are there for each other in His Name.  Speak out!  Let us hear from you.

Blessings,

Ken

The Silence and The Fire

Silence is golden.  How many times over the years have I heard this old adage?  When we wait in silence for a response from God, the time may be Holy, but when we wait in silence for responses from others to make decisions and they don't come, the silence can be crushing.

I have passed through many, many times in my life where I was discouraged.  God has always found me in my moments of doubt and lifted me up.  He has done this again.  I was blessed to hear this wonderful hymn that spoke to my heart about this situation in which we find ourselves.  I find hope for my future and for yours in the words to this hymn.  Please listen to and enjoy this performance.

Blessings and Prayers,

Ken

Take heart and lend your voice

Hello to all,

We have an adventure ahead of us.  By now you have read or heard that Tom and Lindsey are moving to Duluth, Minnesota.  The Center is staying here.  It is not going away.  The Center is not held here by walls, but by people.  The Center is not walls , but people.  The Center is not Tom or Lindsey, even though they helped God to found it.  I have sent out an email asking for your comments and input.  We need each other.  If you are taking the time to read this blog, please help us decide what is needed for The Center to continue to serve.

The Center is currently facing an exciting time.  We are planning our future with a leadership team and no central pastor.  Those of us who attended the last meeting on January 25th, felt that The Center had touched our lives so deeply and offered so much to others that we needed to continue this style of worship (small groups of believers and a once a month gathering of groups).

We need your advice.  If you are part of The Center (Kent, Kent State University, Ashland, North Canton, Cuyahoga Falls, Wadsworth, Bolivar, anywhere), please let us know what you think.  We are all part of the future.  What should be our next step.

Blessings and Prayers,

Ken
