First Brethren Church (N. Georgetown, OH) has been partnering with the West Branch Local Schools, filling a food pantry at the church to provide meals for those in need. The local middle school recently helped stock the shelves to provide meals for families that are in need of help feeding their kids on weekends. While many students are able to receive free or reduced lunch at school, weekends and holiday breaks can be a particularly challenging time for those families.
The middle schoolers stepped up. The West Branch Middle School Student council were recently able to fill their shelves to overflowing, gathering 2,780 pounds of food. As Pastor Ron W. Waters said, "that will feed a lot of kids for a lot of weeks!"
